Critchley Obliterates the field in the mountains of Colorado!!!

It was once again a masterfully planned weekend planned by our commissioner DMac as the boys headed to mountains of Colorado for their annual summer tour championships. The setting for this years weekend was in and around scenic Dillon Colorado.  Playing at ten thousand feet the yahoo boys all felt like men as the airmailed green after green with mere wedges most never really figuring out it wasn’t their new workout regiment but the altitude causing their 7 irons to sail over two hundred yards with ease.

The views were breathtaking as all the courses where surrounded by slowly melting, but still snow capped mountains, the huge elevation changes, smooth putting surfaces and majestic pine tree lined fairways , lakes, rivers and thick rough (along with the late nights and plenty of margaritas, blue lemonades, draft beers, bottled beers, screw drivers, grey hounds… well you get the idea) all proved to be a little too much for most of the yahoo boys- that is save one…

5 time tour champion, Critch (that’s Mr. Critchley to you Joe), reclaimed his 2007-8 form and blitzed the field on the weekend,  lighting up the mountain courses for 13 birdies and an eagle.  Bern started the weekend strong posting 5 birdies the opening day and claiming the most money in both of the first two rounds climbing from the bottom of the yahoo standings into striking distance of his coveted first yahoo championship.  Bern however could not maintain that pace and like the rest of the yahoo boys Bern would eventually succumb to Critch’s utterly dominating performance on Saturday and Sunday winning $600 over the final three rounds and tacking on a few hundred extra in side bets!

Despite being whipped little bitches the yahoo clan represented themselves with class and integrity and a great time was had by all.

Boz managed to win the first and last holes of the weekend despite being under-the-weather and on some good medication not to mention being strapped to electrodes to allow his back to function.  He was often barely heard whispering obscenities to himself in a Berry White voice as his illness robbed him of his voice and his regular silky smooth swing.

JMac  surprised the field as most picked him to supplant DMac as the biggest loser of the weekend, but after he found his clubs buried in his garage he actually won money in a couple rounds making some birdies and generally playing very solid!

Joe was terrible.  Even I don’t have the heart to go into the embarrassing details!

DMac was sporting new clothes, new shoes, a new swing and had arguably been playing the best golf on tour leading up to the championship weekend.  Unfortunately the hotel bathroom had a big mirror and every morning before the crew left the for the early tee times he looked in the mirror and remembered who he was… DMac the tour ATM.

I welcome any comments, but I’m guessing I’m the only one that will be checking the site for a while.

Again a huge thanks to DMac for an awesome weekend and thanks to all the yahoo boys for being great friends, love you all and can’t wait to see you again soon!

I will give credit to Critch. He took us all to the woodshed and just kept beating on us. Great trip planned by DMac again! I got home okay but my clubs didn’t make it. I got lucky and they showed up late on Monday. Hopefully I can play a Yahoo round with someone before the championship. I had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone again!

Nice write up, Critch! I didn’t know you had that type of writing prowess 🙂 Also, congrats on a great few rounds and I look forward to getting back on “normal” elevation that doesn’t have you hitting wedges into par 5’s in two! Yahooooo!!!

    Critch,

Nice reporting style, was a great read. If we can manage to take a few back from you before January, perhaps there might be a chance of some interesting rounds for the championship. If not, going to be tough to dethrone you this year. Nice going.
